VETS’ LARGEST DUST COLLECTION CYCLONE PROJECT.

On February 20th, 2018 the largest cyclone project VETS has ever built, left our Edmonton shop, to be delivered and installed at an OSB (Oriented Strand Board) Mill. With one of the pieces weighing in at 30,000 pounds, the total assembled weight is approximately 48,000 pounds - that’s 24 tonnes. Once installed it will stand over 80 feet in the air. This system is NFPA compliant and has increased filtration capacity as well as an explosion panel top.

Do you have questions about dust collection or fume extraction systems? Are you concerned about your system meeting NFPA requirements? Give us a call 780.434.7476, or email us at erayner@vetsgroup.com.

VETS AWARD WINNING CUSTOMER SERVICE

On March 10th, 2018 at the 33rd Annual Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) Awards Gala, VETS Facility Services took home the coveted Pinnacle Award for Customer Service. This annual gala hosts approximately 400 attendees and special guests attended, including Mayor Don Iveson, and Councillor Dziadyk who gave the address from the city. Award recipients represent companies and individuals that are examples of excellence in the Edmonton commercial real estate industry.

A little over 3 years ago VETS’ Facility Service division underwent a fundamental change in how we deliver our services. Our focus went from a traditional reactive approach to a full service, preventative maintenance approach.  With a change of this scale it was important to understand whether or not we were succeeding in the eyes of our clients. The basis of our the award submission was the process created to measure our success and address any issues or concerns as soon as possible.

An important announcement was made October 25, 2017 by VETS Group President & CEO, Sean Rayner, regarding our Mechanical division. See the complete announcement below.

Announcement - VETS Mechanical by Sean Rayner, VETS Group President & CEO
October 25, 2017
Edmonton, AB

Three years ago we started VETS Mechanical with the goal of increasing the Edmonton commercial construction market share of VETS Sheet Metal, and to decrease our reliance on oil, gas and industrial work. After many sleepless nights, looking at alternate solutions and with a lot of heartache, I have made the decision to wind down VETS Mechanical. There will be immediate and longer term changes that will affect members of our team and their families’ livelihoods, and for that I am deeply sorry.

We knew we would face challenges like any start up that would include the execution risks faced by any project-based construction company. What we could not predict was the massive shift in Alberta’s political and economic environments.

The last 12 – 18 months has been difficult for many Alberta families and businesses in the construction industry and the outlook for the next 12 months for commercial construction is grim; fewer development permits, unresponsive and uncooperative governments at all levels, stiff competition and jobs being awarded often at or below cost. This has combined to create the perfect storm leading us to a very difficult decision.

Unfortunately, the only reasonable option for us was to wind down our Mechanical operation. VETS Mechanical will complete its current obligations and honour its commitments to staff, customers and suppliers, but VETS Mechanical will no longer be taking on new projects.

The other divisions of the VETS Group throughout Alberta; VETS Sheet Metal, VETS Facility Services, VETS Electrical, and our two AirTek Pneumatics locations in British Columbia will continue to source and complete projects. We will continue to serve all our customers with renowned craftsmanship and our HONOUR core values at heart

The VETS team fabricated a bag house within a tight timeline. The video below shows the finished product and shipment to the client.
